Principal's Welcome

St Laurence’s School is a K-6 Catholic Primary school with a strong sense of community and shared vision. Our school motto, ‘Love is the Way,’ reflects the values that were endorsed and lived by the Sisters of Mercy in 1953 when the school first opened its doors and welcomed students and their families. We are proud to continue the traditions and teachings of this order as we seek to encompass a model of Christ Centred Learning. We aim to provide a rich catholic curriculum and authentic experiences that engages, challenges and inspires learners. We believe that in order for us to ‘promote a wisdom based society, we must go beyond knowledge and educate people to think, evaluating facts in the light of values.’ (Pope Francis 2013)

Our Professional Learning Communities (PLC) are central to our commitment to provide ‘High Levels of Learning and Wellbeing for all’. The PLC is underpinned by shared vision, values and goals. The overarching focus of the Learning Community is collaboration, learning and growth. We are committed to creating a culture where collaboration is the key to ensuring quality educational outcomes. Our students flourish as they realise their capacity to achieve through our commitment to embedded evidenced based programs, practices and processes. We offer a wide range of cultural, and sporting activities in order to ensure our students thrive. Our school band, chess club, garden club, creative play area and school therapy dog are part of the rich catholic curriculum that they are immersed in.

Our partnership with our parents is instrumental in enabling our students to flourish. Student voice build’s their capacity and our partnership as we seek to model and promote lifelong learning.
